What’s Actually Included in a Private Jet Quote? Here’s How to Read It Right

If you’ve ever requested a private jet quote and walked away feeling confused – or worse, misled – you’re not alone.

Inconsistent pricing, unclear terms, and surprise fees have unfortunately become common in parts of the charter world. At PorterJets, we believe that transparency is part of trust – and that your quote should be as refined as the experience itself.

Here’s what a private jet quote should include, what it often doesn’t, and how we make sure you know exactly what you’re getting.

1. Flight Hours – & the Aircraft Itself

This is the core of every quote:

  • Hourly rate × estimated flight time (including return or repositioning legs)

  • Aircraft class (light, midsize, super-midsize, heavy, or long-range)

  • Crew and safety standards included in the operator’s base cost

We select aircraft not just for fit and efficiency – but for how they complement your travel goals. That’s the starting point, not the upsell.

2. Ground Costs & Airport Fees

Every quote should clearly show:

  • FBO (private terminal) usage fees

  • Landing, ramp, and overnight parking charges

  • Crew lodging if the trip involves an overnight stay

Many brokers leave these vague or buried in “miscellaneous” sections. We don’t. We show every component – line by line – so you can make informed decisions.

3. Inflight Experience: What’s Included

All PorterJets flights include:

  • Stocked beverages and light snacks

  • Dedicated concierge access pre-flight

  • Airport-to-aircraft coordination

  • Basic WiFi (on most aircraft)

Optional enhancements – like full catering, pet amenities, curated gifts, or brand activations – are always quoted clearly in advance, never tacked on after the fact.

4. Taxes, Surcharges & What Others Don’t Disclose

Here’s what should always be included in a final quote:

  • Federal Excise Tax (FET): 7.5% on U.S. domestic legs

  • Per-passenger segment fees (nominal but required)

  • Fuel surcharges (rare, but possible in volatile markets)

  • International handling fees, if applicable

If a quote seems too low, it often means these are being excluded, estimated, or left open-ended. We’ll never do that.

5. What We Don’t Do – & Why That Matters

We’ve seen it all:

  • Quotes that jump 15–30% at final contract

  • Surprise charges for catering, WiFi, or baggage

  • Last-minute aircraft swaps with no explanation

  • Repositioning legs not disclosed until invoice

PorterJets operates with a no-surprises policy. If it’s part of your flight – it’s in your quote.

Final Thoughts

A private jet experience should begin with confidence – not a question mark.

At PorterJets, we treat your time and trust as non-negotiables. Every quote we send is designed to inform, not upsell – and to leave you feeling clear, empowered, and well-prepared for your journey.

That’s the Porter standard.
